Austin's POV
--
It had been a long day for me, and I'd never been happier to see Simon’s car pull into the driveway. Dinner had been ready for half an hour, but I'd waited until my husband arrived to eat. Simon and I sat next to each other at the table, our chairs close together as we ate. He seemed to know something was wrong, though, because he took me aside once the meal had been eaten.
*What's going on, Austin? You look down," Simon asked worriedly.
"I had a hard day at work, Si; more gay jokes..." I explained. Simon wrapped his arms around me and looked into my eyes.
"I don't care what some group of bullies thinks. We love each other, and that’s all that matters," he assured me. Simon had always known how to cheer me up, but today it was going to take more than words.
"Thank you, Simon..." I murmured, hugging my husband sadly. I nuzzled him gently, conveying a silent message.
“You want to snuggle, don’t you?" Simon remarked, smiling warmly. He'd read me like a book once again.
"Please...?" I asked softly.
“Of course we can,” Simon answered. Taking my hand, he led me towards the living room couch. Stopping in front of the cushioned piece of furniture, we slid off our jeans before lying down. Simon pulled a blanket over us as we snuggled, our bodies connecting like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. I inhaled deeply, taking in my husband’s sweet, intoxicating. scent.
"I love you, Simon..." I murmured softly. He smiled and nuzzled me gently.
"I love you too, Austin," he replied.

That's an interesting way to get out of a bad mood. I just play Mortal Kombat and take my negative feelings out on my opponents.
