4th of July Special 2014

The middle of summer had brought with it a most exciting holiday, and a certain group of friends was well-prepared to celebrate it.  The white, 2003 Ford Excursion belonging to XGBlue's mother was fully loaded with its maximum capacity of 8 occupants.  Driving was XG himself, AKA Austin Keith.  In the passenger seat was, of course, his husband: fellow anthropomorphic chipmunk Simon Seville.

Seated on the middle bench were three of Austin's best friends.  First was Tyler Keith (no relation) AKA TyTheDraco, a shiny Azelf and XG's closest deviantART friend.  Next was Tyler's loving wife Mesprit, currently in an anthropomrphic form.  Alongside them sat one of Austin's other close friends, Elemental-wyvern or EW for short.  His OC, Strike, had been strictly forbidden from tagging along, and was being monitored by another OC- Gamma- to ensure that she did now blow up his airship with fireworks.

The back bench featured another couple, half of which being Austin's best chipmunk friend Tailsnumber1 AKA Noah Jagers.  Alongside him sat his fiancee, Jeanette Miller of the Chipettes.  Last but certainly not least came one of Austin's few female friends, crow1789 or just Crow, as he called her.  Sitting in her lap, much to her excitement, was Austin's fakemon Soleon.  She quite enjoyed petting the creature, feeding him bacon and overall just pampering him in general.

Arriving next to a field designated as a viewing area, Austin drove the beast of a vehicle onto the curb and into the short grass.  Coming to a stop, the group piled up and set up camp for the show.  Crow and Elemental produced folding chairs and sat down, the former with Soleon once again in her lap.  The three couples spread out blankets, lying down alongside their loves.  Mesprit, owed a favor by Mew*, called it in and kept any and all bugs at bay for the duration of the evening.

With the sky almost black- curse city lights- everyone awaited the colorful, explosive display.  Austin and Simon snuggled together both on top of and underneath blankets, sharing a brief nuzzle before looking skyward.  Then, just as Soleon was licking Crow's nose after receiving yet another bacon treat, it all began.  Loud pops echoed through the area as fireworks exploded high in the night sky.  The celebration became a romantic moment for the three couples, who snuggled closely amidst the show.

Then the show hit its grand finale, and it seemed about 100 fireworks were fired off at once.  As the other two couples shared tender moments, Austin turned and locked eyes with the love of his life.

"This is my grand finale," Austin murmured.  He then pulled Simon into a deep, emotional kiss.  The two 'munks held each other close, kissing for what felt like hours.  All that mattered in that moment was each other; everything else tuned out with ease.  Finally they separated, their friends at that moment applauding the show.  Blushing, the two lovers began helping everyone pack up for the trip back home.
